Rabbi Maline’s first Bar/Bat Mitzvah class consisting of 13 women and 2 men met for the first time
on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 . At this first meeting Rabbi Maline gave an outline of what material would
be covered. The class will be meeting each week from November through March with a B’nai Mitzvah ceremony on March 19,
2010. Rabbi will be discussing the origins and traditions of the Bar-Bat Mitzvah, the Liturgy, various prayers, the Torah,
blessings and choosing a Parasha, etc. The class is very excited and looking forward to delving into the traditions and prayers
that are a part of our faith.
This year the Rabbi will continue the education program by delving into the history of , and the results
of the creation of Reform Judiasm. Those students completing the course will be eligible for Confirmation in the Spring of
2011
